Gingerbread Man and Christmas cookies
The tradition of making gingerbread at Christmas is said to have originated when Queen Elizabeth I ordered a caterer to make gingerbread in the shape of a guest, but many believe that the popularity of gingerbread came from a couple of lovers who were separated by war, who feared that they would not find each other, so they sold gingerbread in their villages.
